Who Am I?

Hi! My name is Michael Zarucki and I am a Recording and Mix engineer and the founder of the HiFi Junkies blog.

I am a graduate of both Berklee College of Music, where I studied songwriting, and a graduate of Full Sail University where I studied Music Production. I have had the pleasure of interning and working at some incredible recording studios including Electric Lady Studios, Sear Sound, and Terminus Studios, and I am currently an in-house Engineer for Smash Studios in New York City.

I have worked with hundreds of artists over my eight year career as a recording and mix engineers with genres ranging from Rap/Hip-Hop, Pop, and Rock.

Let’s work together! Drop us an email to get started!

What I Do

There are many roles I play in the recording studio:

As a recording engineer I use my experience to make sure that your project is recorded with the highest quality through the use of both vintage and modern .microphones, microphone pre-amps, and outboard gear.

As mixing engineer I use my experience and creativity to mix the multi-track sessions in a way that best serves the song and the artist's vision.

As a music producer I work closely with the artist to define and serve the project through my expertise in music theory and arrangment. I also supervise the recording process to make sure that all goals are met within the budget and time constraints.
